Bekas Ketua Pengarah Imigresen dijel 6 tahun

Anwar’s Acquittal – What Are The Hidden Messages?

By now everybody in Planet Earth knows de-facto opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, has been acquitted on a charge of sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan in 2008. The acquittal surprises many people – from opposition parties, Najib administration, former premier Mahathir and even Anwar himself. But was Anwar really surprised with the verdict? For a person who was about 90% to be sent behind bars for the second time for the same sodomy charge, Anwar doesn’t seems to be the happiest person in comparison to his wife, daughters, the thousands cheering crowds and his buddies from the opposition parties.

Sarawak govt ‘constantly’ ignoring court rulings

KUCHING: State opposition PKR has accused the Sarawak government of “abusing and misusing” the office of the state Attorney-General’s Chambers (A-G) to defend the wrong-doings of a few who continue grabbing native customary rights (NCR) land.
According to PKR vice-chairman See Chee How, the state government is “constantly” denying court rulings favouring natives on NCR land.
“The High Courts, the Court of Appeal and even the Federal Court have spoken and ruled on the recognition of NCR according to the customary practice of the natives concerned, but the state government chose to have its own restrictive interpretation.
“The state government is in its denial mode and likely to continue doing so, no matter how many cases are decided in favour of the native communities that have chosen to stand up against the state Barisan Nasional regime.

‘The straw that broke the camel’s back’

Corrupt Barisan Nasional l Teoh Beng Hock -  PETALING JAYA: The Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) concluded that the “fourth interrogation session” drove Teoh Beng Hock to plunge to his death.
Calling it the “final straw which broke the camel’s back,” the report claimed that the session must have wrecked the 30-year-old political aide mentally and physically.
The 124-page report also fingered three Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers as the main culprits and assigned them nicknames. The report was released by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nazri Abdul Aziz today.
In stating that Teoh had to deal with “interrogation heavyweights”, the RCI labelled Selangor MACC deputy director Hishammuddin Hashim as the “arrogant leader (who would have no qualms in lying as long as the ends were achieved, regardless of the means employed)”.

RCI: ‘Weak-willed’ Teoh committed suicide

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Selangor political aide Teoh Beng Hock was not murdered but had committed suicide due to the aggressive interrogation by three Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers.
This was the conclusion of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) tasked with investigating Teoh’s cause of death.
Revealing this in Parliament today, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz said that based on the report, action would be taken against the MACC officers for not following procedure.

Khir pressured me to lie, says Ditamas boss

Corrupt Barisan Nasional - SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor menteri besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo had put pressure on Ditamas Sdn Bhd director Shamsuddin Hayroni to lie to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in 2009 so as not to implicate either of them in any offence.
“When I was called in by the MACC in 2009, I received a lot of pressure from Khir,” Shamsuddin testified today when being re-examined by deputy public prosecutor Abdul Wahab Mohamed at the corruption trial of Khir at the Shah Alam High Court.
“At the time… I was asked not to involve him and myself in any charges,” he said, prompting some angry exclamations from some Khir supporters seated in the packed gallery.

‘Khir paid me RM500,000 in cash each time’

Corrupt Barisan Nasional l Khir Toyo - SHAH ALAM: A freelance landscape designer claimed that he received more than RM6 million in cash from former Selangor menteri besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo and Ditamas Sdn Bhd director Shamsuddin Haryoni for a project involving a bungalow in Section 7 here.
Nasir Ismail, 55, told the High Court hearing Khir’s corruption trial that he was hired by the latter in 2006 to convert the house on Jalan Suasa in line with a Balinese garden concept after being introduced to the politician by one Dr Karim Mansor (Tanjong Sepat state assemblyman), as Khir liked his previous work for Karim’s house.

MACC man: Teoh’s death angered me

KUALA LUMPUR:  A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer said today that he felt angry, not guilty, over the death of Teoh Beng Hock.
Continuing with his statement before the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) investigating the death and MACC’s interrogation methods, Mohd Anuar Ismail said the tragedy caused problems for him and his family.
Teoh was found dead the morning after his overnight interrogation by MACC officers at their office in Shah Alam. He was political aide to Ean Yong Hian Wah, the Selangor state executive councillor the agency was investigating for alleged misappropriation of funds. His body was found on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam, the same building that houses the MACC office.

HOW MUCH IS HE WORTH?!

'Abused' - Abu Bekir's first wife is suing for a RM 400 million divorce!

Corrupt Barisan Nasional - It must have seemed a good idea at the time for young Abu Bekir to have married a lady with an MBA in Finance.  They even placed her on the Board of the family firm CMS.  However, it means Datin Sri Shahnaz Majid, who is now suing him for divorce, is particularly qualified to give an estimate of the worth of Taib’s son – and she is after him for RM400 million!
According to expert divorce lawyers consulted by Sarawak Report, a wife in her position would be entitled to aim for 30% of a couple’s wealth, which makes Abu Bekir, aged 48, a comfortable billionaire.  According to Kuching lawyer Desmond Kho:
“The RM400 million claim is by far the highest ever recorded and claimed by a Sarawakian.  This should make Bekir one of the richest men in Malaysia.  I’m sure the wife’s lawyer must have assessed Bekir’s wealth to come up with the quotation”.

As expected, Tiong's Kuala Dimensi gets PKA suit struck out

As expected, Tiong's Kuala Dimensi gets PKA suit struck out
The Shah Alam High Court has struck out the Port Klang Authority's (PKA) suit against Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB) to rectify a sales and purchase agreement (S&P) for 1,000 acres (404.68ha) of land worth RM1.88bil for the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project signed in 2002.
Justice Datuk Zaleha Yusof, after hearing submissions of both parties in her chambers, ruled that she agreed with arguments put forward by KDSB that there were no mutual mistakes in the terms of agreement entered by both parties (PKA and KDSB) as contended by the plaintiff.
KDSB's counsel Indran Navaratnam said the defendant (KDSB) had submitted that one of the clauses in the agreement had clearly stated that the agreement superceded all the previous negotiations between both parties.

Targeting the corrupt in judiciary

The Daily Star
Dhaka, Monday 17 January 2011
Bangladeshi Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque has informed the nation that steps are being taken to look into corruption in the judiciary. To this effect, as he states, a five-member committee comprising senior High Court judges has been instituted, the fundamental purpose being a ferreting out of corrupt elements in the judicial branch.
It is our understanding that the committee, formed against the backdrop of a recent TIB report on judicial corruption, has set before itself the task of cleansing the judicial branch of corrupt elements within it.

The link between Altantuya and Teoh Beng Hock

The link between Altantuya and Teoh Beng Hock
LETTER This is the biggest cover-up in the political history of Malaysia and we all fell for it four years after the Altantuya Shaaribuu murder on 18 Oct 2006. When the murder was exposed in late 2006, those in UMNO who were opposed to Najib’s impending ascent to the PM's throne saw it as an opportunity to get rid of Najib through the ballot box in the 8 March 2008 General Election (GE).
But although the ruling party, Barisan National (BN) suffered badly, Najib managed to hold on to his seat by 500 votes through last minute postal votes inclusion. With Altantuya’s murder hanging over his head, Najib’s political career was hanging by a thread and not expected to mount a serious challenge to Badawi’s administration.

Altantuya-Scorpenes: Trails that lead to Najib continue to puzzle

In the fifth and final part of the mystery interview with private eye P Balasubramaniam published in Malaysia Today, he tells that prime minister’s wife Rosmah Mansor was “very happy” with him for retracting his first statutory declaration which implicated her and Najib Razak in Altantuya’s murder.

MACC's latest 'comedy circus' no laughing matter

Mariam Mokhtar

The inquest into Teoh Beng Hock’s death is at the forefront of our minds. The cross-examination last week, of Thai pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand by Abdul Razak Musa, the lawyer representing the MACC, was not worthy of a government counsel, or any lawyer for that matter.

A further disappointment is the article which was posted on the MACC official blog on Monday.

The entry described Dr Pornthip as a fortune-teller, with a doctored picture of her as a gypsy, complete with crystal ball. It was not complimentary and was intended to smear her character.

Inquest video of MACC lawyer buylling Pornthip not uploaded

Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng has thrown the book at the Attorney-General for not uploading the latest video clip of the inquest proceedings of the late Teoh Beng Hock, accusing his chambers of trying to hide the way it tried to bully Thai forensic expert Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand.

“Why not the latest recording? The latest recording is supposed to be the funniest, full of surprises and our government lawyer will be the laughing stock in the whole legal profession and the whole world. So they purposely tried to hide it,” Lim told a press conference on Wednesday.

Lim was among the lawyers involved in the Teoh Beng Hock case since his body was discovered on July 16, 2009, after overnight interrogation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in connection with a graft probe on several DAP leaders.

Amid public outcry and accusations of a government cover-up, the AG had last year promised transparency and that it would upload the video tape of each inquest proceeding on its website at www.agc.gov.my .However, it has not done so for the latest hearing which took place on August 18.

Making a mockery of themselves and the country

Last week, Dr Pornthip flew in to testify at Teoh's inquest, flustering the MACC because her forensic findings show Teoh’s death was homicide while the federal-government agency has been insistent it was suicide.

The MACC, together with the Attorney-General’s Chambers, has tried hard to discredit Pornthip because of her popularity with the Malaysian public. In her country, Pornthip is rated as the most trusted individual in the whole of Thailand, according to a recent Reader’s Digest poll.

But Malaysian authorities have mocked her, and a Cabinet minister even called her a liar. Few Malaysians were surprised when at last week’s inquest, she was subjected to brutal cross-examination.

The MACC prosecutor Abdul Razak Musa denigrated her academic qualifications and at one point even asked her where the weapon was if it was not suicide. But Pornthip held up well despite Abdul Razak’s belligerence.

She also impressed Malaysians by the way she answered his questions and stole the day when she refused to retaliate to his needling that her testimony was biased because she was hired by Beng Hock’s employers - the Selangor government,

"You have to understand. I work for the rights of the dead, not the Selangor government. My objective is to help the dead," said Pornthip, drawing loud applause from the courtroom.
