‘Probe Taib first,’

CORRUPT BARISAN NASIONAL - KUCHING: Movement For Change Sarawak (MoCS) leader  Francis Siah is willing to meet with the local police provided they record Chief Minister Taib Mahmud’s statement first.
Responding to a comment by Sarawak Commissioner of Police Mohmad Salleh that they have started investigating MoCS, Siah said: “Is there one law to deal with the powerful like Abdul Taib Mahmud, Chief Minister of Sarawak and another for an ordinary citizen like me?

TAIB SHOWS TRUE COLOURS IN TASMANIA

Tasmanians are protesting against Ta Ann too

CORRUPT BARISAN NASIONAL : As news reports are beginning to show, Australia is beginning to get a true picture of Taib Mahmud and his behaviour in Sarawak.
TV scenes of rowdy loggers disrupting and breaking up a local meeting in a town hall in Huonville, Tasmania will not go down well. [These will be uploaded shortly]
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/05/20/3222344.htm
The meeting had been called by environmentally concerned local people, who are anxious about logging in their area, which is being carried out by none other than Taib’s own family company Ta Ann.  The loggers are shown to have been aggressive and abusive towards the seated audience and one woman speaker was threatened with rape!

No money to finish 9MP projects in Sabah?

CORRUPT BARISAN NASIONAL - KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government is showing signs that it cannot implement hundreds of development projects identified and funded under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP)
According to Sabah DAP chief Jimmy Wong, over 400 projects have not been completed within the 9MP time frame.
“Can you imagine that the projects have not been completed under the 9MP and are now fitted into the 10th Malaysia Plan under the guise of a rolling plan, a brainchild of (Chief Minister) Musa Aman?” he asked.

Taib Mahmud’S GHOST SHARES !

CORRUPT BARISAN NASIONAL : The largest single shareholder of Sarawak’s largest single company remains Laila Taib, according to the latest Annual Report recently produced by the publicly listed company!
Laila Taib, the late wife of Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud, passed away over two years ago and the Chief Minister has subsequently re-married.  Yet, her estate evidently still possesses a multi-million ringgit stake of 13 million shares, which represents 11.32% of the company.
Some latitude can be given for a period of mourning and re-alignment, but the point of an Annual Report for a public company is to make such key facts as key shareholders public.  Two years on it is not appropriate to list a ghost.

TROUBLE FOR TAIB IN TEBEDU

Don't bulldoze our forest.
CORRUPT BARISAN NASIONALSarawak Report has received an exclusive dossier of photographs showing the full extent of the violence and anger that has broken out in the normally quiet, law-abiding communities of Tebedu, Serian.

The trouble broke out a fortnight ago, as Taib’s logging raid on this valuable area of remaingin virgin jungle got under way.
Village headmen were threatened and there was an unprecedented attack on the machinery and transportation trucks belonging to the logging company.  The loggers, mostly foreign workers of course, had fled in advance.

MACC gets report on badly built RM3.5 mil road

CORRUPT BARISAN NASIONAL - KOTA KINABALU: Sabah DAP hopes to foil any government cover-up of the shocking road works carried out by a government contractor in a rural part of the state.
The Kudat branch of the party has lodged an official report with the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over an RM3.5 million contract granted by the government for a road that disintegrated in a matter of months.
Fears that the wastage of public money may be swept under the carpet prompted Orong Sahap, a DAP member from Kudat, an economically depressed area of the state, to lodge the report.

Gloom, anger over proposed dam mars Kaamatan celebrations

Corrupt Barisan Nasional - KOTA BELUD: At the foothills of the majestic Mount Kinabalu, quiet gloom sits on scenic Kampung Tambatuon.
Despite being well into the festive month of Kaamatan or harvest festival in Sabah, there is little cheer here and much of it has to do with the state government’s insidious plan to build a dam nearby.
When we decided to visit Kampung Tambatous for a festive story, we were not prepared for the air of forebrooding that assailed us entering the village from the Kota Belud-Ranau bypass.

Malaysia's greatest unsolved mysteries: Death-house MACC

CORRUPT BARISAN NASIONAL : You will not apply my precept, he said, shaking his head. How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth? - Sherlock Holmes in The Sign of the Four (Doubleday p. 111)
In 2009, Teoh Beng Hock was a 30-year old journalist cum political aide looking forward to his coming marriage. In 2011, Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed was a 56-year old Customs Department’s Assistant Director and a devoted family man.
The two are seemingly worlds apart, one was about to start a new chapter in his life and another was looking forward to his retirement.

The sweet monopoly of sugar must end

Corrupt Barisan Nasional - KOTA KINABALU: As far as the government is concerned it is a sweet monopoly. The market forces do not dictate the price of sugar, the government does.
On Tuesday the price of sugar in the country has gone up by 20 sen, from RM2.10 to RM2.30 per kilogram .
This is the fourth time sugar prices had increased since Jan 1 last year when it was priced at RM1.65 per kilo.
Prior to that, sugar prices were maintained at RM1.45 for a long period. This marks a 58.6 percent increase in less than one-and-a-half years.

BN YB BITES THE HANDS THAT FEED HIM!

Biting the hands that feed him - BN
Assemblyman, Abdul Rahman Junaidi

Corrupt Barisan Nasional : BN is spending huge sums of money attempting to promote a democratic image worldwide.  But, for free, the Pantai Damai assemblyman, Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, has undermined such careful PR with a series of outrageous statements.
His remarks, which were faithfully reproduced in the BN mouthpiece, The Borneo Post, on April 28th under the title “It is not fair to bite the hand that feeds you”, were directed against members of his own constituency, who had had the ‘audacity’ to vote against BN in the recent elections.
BN YBs badly need lessons in democracy
Unlike a genuine democratic politician, who would acknowledge that he had not succeeded in convincing everybody that he was the man to vote for and would commit himself to try harder next time round, this fellow chose instead to chastise and threaten his constituents!  Worse, he made it clear that he was prepared to corruptly abuse his position by withdrawing legitimate state aid from individuals who had voted for the opposition!

Corrupt Barisan National - IPOH: DAP Buntong assemblyperson A Sivasubramaniam wants the Ipoh City Council to account for RM68.5 million allocated for road repair works in the city area, including his constituency.
He said the Perak state assembly had approved RM64 million in November last year, while RM4.5 million was allocated for Buntong this April.
Sivasubramaniam said he conducted checks around Buntong and found that roads in several areas including Kampung Baru, First Garden and Taman Risah were in deplorable condition.

Favouritism in awarding MRT contracts

Corrupt Barisan Nasional - PETALING JAYA: The award of contracts for Mass Rapid Transit system is riddled with irregularities as there is correlation between the projects main partner and the other contractors.
The projects delivery partner MMC-Gamuda has been working closely with a company doing an independent check engineer’s role.
DAP’s PJ Utara MP Tony Pua said that an independent check engineer (ICE) role was given to a consortium led by HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd (HSSI).

SUSPICIOUS SCENES!

DSC01405
Sarawak Report has obtained photographs of the tampered ballot boxes at the centre of the election controversy in Senadin.  During an election which was swamped with tales of bribery and vote-rigging, the shenanigans surrounding this seat in the Miri region nevertheless stood out.

Taib will step down after the general election

Corrupt Barisan Nasional - It’s almost certain that the guessing game is over. Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud, 75, will step down from office after the next general election, expected by mid-2013 at the very latest. He has no intention of hanging around for the next state election in 2016. That’s the word from his inner circle.
There are three reasons for the long goodbye.
Firstly, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak needs Taib to help finance the general election in Sarawak at least, if not in Peninsular Malaysia as well.

Deport Taib’s bomohs, Home Ministry urged

Corrupt Barisan Nasional - KUCHING:  Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud’s cousin and ex-PBB leader Salleh Jafaruddin today urged the Home Ministry to deport three foreign bomohs from Sarawak to save the state from them.
“Our ‘semi-insane leader’ is now helpless in many aspects since the departure of his late wife.
“In fact the evil satanic influence of his bomohs has long established their influences and encircled and surrounded Taib and the family since the last 10 years.
