Anwar’s Acquittal – What Are The Hidden Messages?

By now everybody in Planet Earth knows de-facto opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, has been acquitted on a charge of sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan in 2008. The acquittal surprises many people – from opposition parties, Najib administration, former premier Mahathir and even Anwar himself. But was Anwar really surprised with the verdict? For a person who was about 90% to be sent behind bars for the second time for the same sodomy charge, Anwar doesn’t seems to be the happiest person in comparison to his wife, daughters, the thousands cheering crowds and his buddies from the opposition parties.

FBC MEDIA SCANDAL – GROWING QUESTIONS FOR CNN’S JOHN DEFTERIOS

Defterios gives Facetime to FBC client,
Malaysia's PM Najib Razak, on CNN

Corrupt Barisan Nasiional - If CNN had acknowledged concerns about FBC Media’s spin operations and agreed to investigate the possible contamination of its programmes, because of its connections with that company’s President, John Defterios, criticism might have died down.
However, unlike the BBC and CNBC, who have both launched investigations and suspended FBC Media programmes, CNN has leapt to a fairly arrogant and unquestioning defence of its Business Presenter, who for years has combined that role with a senior position and substantial shareholding in the crooked PR/ Production company.

Videos and You Tube: Catching the police and BN in a web of lies

Videos and You Tube: Catching the police and BN in a web of liesCorrupt Barisan Nasional l Written by  Iskandar Dzulkarnain
What started out as just a simple march for democracy and for free and fair elections has turned out to be Malaysia’s biggest news of the year. In the weeks leading up to the July 9 Bersih march, the media industry was already witnessing a gigantic surge in the news material for Bersih 2.0.
Low-profile lawyer Ambiga Sreenevasan, who is also the Bersih chief, was thrown rudely into the limelight. Public attention was further aggravated by Perkasa Chief Ibrahim Ali and his hostility towards the Rally. Sad to say, death and gang-rape threats against Ambiga also riveted many Malaysians to their Internet.

RCI: ‘Weak-willed’ Teoh committed suicide

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Selangor political aide Teoh Beng Hock was not murdered but had committed suicide due to the aggressive interrogation by three Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers.
This was the conclusion of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) tasked with investigating Teoh’s cause of death.
Revealing this in Parliament today, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz said that based on the report, action would be taken against the MACC officers for not following procedure.

PM Najib's tyranny draws focus on bribes, murder

No photo
Corrupt Barisan Nasional

Whom the gods wish to destroy they first make . . . Mad it was for Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to prime the police into thinking days prior that last Saturday’s opposition protest in Kuala Lumpur was illegal, and that seized firebomb stashes would have been used. Madder still, for him to have the 20,000 marchers tear-gassed and 1,667 arrested.

The rally was to call for electoral reforms, a domestic issue that attracted only the Malaysian press. But when riot squads aimed teargas canisters at opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim’s head, actually hitting his aide’s eye, and causing the fatal heart attack of one demonstrator, the event drew world attention. Now international groups are denouncing the mayhem as proof of Najib’s disregard for human rights. Worse, there’s sudden global interest in an imminent subpoena of Najib to a Paris trial on kickbacks in purchasing three French submarines in 2002, and the consequent murder of a Mongolian socialite in 2006.

EXPOSED ! – THE BEARDED BLOGGER BEHIND THE DIRTY TRICKS CAMPAIGNS

Corrupt Barisan Nasional
Sarawak Report can reveal that a key orchestrator behind the dirty tricks campaigns that have been waged against Anwar Ibrahim, Gordon Brown and Sarawak Report is a ginger-bearded American blogger named Josh Trevino.
Trevino claims he was a speech-writer for George Bush and he is a founder of the popular Republican blog, Red State.  His outspoken, far-right views have provoked controversy in the US, where he has been striving to make a name for himself via the internet.
Those provocative views are, however, unlikely to appeal to his Malaysian clients in BN, who, nevertheless, have clearly being paying him and his associates to defame their political enemies and boost their own publicity.

Dormant company gets RM5.8b LNG project

Corrupt Barisan Nasional - IPOH: The Perak DAP today lodged a report against the Barisan Nasional state government for misusing its power in awarding a RM5.8 billion project to a RM100 dormant company to import liquified natural gas (LNG) from Qatar.
The project is located in Segari, Manjung.
The report was lodged with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
“This is a clear case of misuse of power by BN in giving this RM5.8 billion project to the RM100 dormant company named Atigas Technology Sdn Bhd,” party state deputy chief V Sivakumar said at a press conference. Also present were two other Pakatan members.
He believes that the project has been given to Umno cronies but he did not name the directors in the company.
He claimed that a check with the Companies Commission of Malaysia on Atigas Technology revealed that this dormant company was registered on Feb 28, 2008 and had no record of business activities or profits.

Police report against Taib-linked coal plant

Corrupt Barisan Nasional - KUCHING: Angry villagers in the Rumah Bansan longhouse in Mukah have lodged a police report against the Mukah coal-fired power plant, which is linked to Chief Minister Taib Mahmud’s family- owned conglomerate Cahaya Mata Sarawak (CMS).
In their report, the Ibans in the 13-door longhouse claimed that sea water entering their rivers during high tide had caused severe erosion and destruction to their crops and properties.
They claimed the land erosions were due to the construction of a cooling pond, which was meant to supply adequate water to cool the plant’s coal-powered generators.

Furious Hadi orders 1 million PAS members to attend Bersih

Corrupt Barisan Nasional : UMNO has had it easy for too long. So has the BN coalition it heads. Prime Minister Najib Razak has not been shy to bully his way through using the might of the government machinery and the institutions of authority to maintain his momentum.
But with the next general election on the way, the Pakatan Rakyat led by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim is starting to show its long-held-back muscle. Leaders all three component parties PAS, PKR and DAP have declared their unreserved support for the Bersih 2.0 rally organised by 62 of the country's most established NGOs.
The rally is mean to be a citizens' march for democracy, culiminating with the delivery of a memorandum to the King, demanding free and fair elections. But Najib and his UMNO party believe that the march is a slap in the face to his leadership.

Vote tampering caught on video?

KUCHING: DAP has lodged a police report over a video clip purportedly showing an incident of postal vote tampering that took place in Sibu this afternoon.
A DAP election worker who was at the Sibu police headquarters confirmed that the DAP polling agent who filmed the incident was giving his statement at 5.30pm.
The clip, released earlier today showed four women handing over what looked like ballot papers to a bespectacled man in Wisma Sanyan.

GANG RULE IN SARAWAK

The shocking pictures of Minggat Anak Nyakin and his son Juan Anak Minggat speak volumes about the problems in Sarawak.  The two men were viciously attacked on the night of February 14th by illegal loggers, who have been plundering their lands for years unhindered.  Minggat was left for dead on the steps of the company manager’s office and has yet to regain his power of speech.  It was left to his son to crawl away in the dark, barely alive himself, to get help.

ONE LAW FOR THE TAIBS AND ANOTHER FOR EVERYONE ELSE?

Elia (right) is clearly confident that she can get away
with behaving (and dressing) how she likes!
Cheers to Elia Geneid the niece of Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud and daughter of his favourite sister Raziah Geneid.  Except, of course, any other Muslim girl shown publicly waving a pint of beer or enjoying champagne such a fashion would risk a public lashing these days!
For this reason Sarawak Report, which does not condemn the consumption of alcohol, wonders why Elia and her friends would dare to behave in such a fashion, flaunting their drinking habits for the cameras?  We can only conclude that such behaviour is tolerated by their families, who nevertheless demand that other girls behave in a far more modest fashion or risk punishment and humiliation.

The victims of the rich and the powerful

Numpang Suntai and some of the logs illegally chopped down
by Quality Concrete
In a recent story Sarawak Report exposed the shocking attempt by the firm Quality Concrete to force Iban villagers to hand over their rights to 3,035 hectares of Native Customary Rights Lands in Sebangan for just MR 250 (US$ 80) per family.

The company, of which the Chief Minister’s sister Raziah is one of the Directors, is after the millions of dollars-worth of rare and valuable hardwood trees in the area. However the Ibans are refusing, saying they want to preserve their forest for future generations.

Professionally Killed @ Professional Killers

What kind of a government sends in highly trained and armed Special Forces against the people whom they promised to protect?

By Hakim Joe

One can rebuild burnt down buildings, clear the debris, reopen the closed down businesses, recall the army and bring back tourism. But how can one resurrect the dead?

For those who lost their lives in what was initially deemed a peaceful demonstration against a central government without mandate, will their ultimate sacrifices be worth it? Will the forfeiture of their lives bring about the goal that they so urgently sought?

What kind of a government sends in highly trained and armed Special Forces against the people whom they promised to protect? Who ordered the platoon of APC against a group of common citizens? What kind of government reneges on its promise after successfully assassinating the opposition’s military leader?

So many questions that beget answers that are not forthcoming. To legalize and condone the brutal killing by employing professional military snipers to kill off intended targets from afar, all one has to do is to amend certain words utilized to identify these individuals. Instead of calling them “protesters”, all they needed in justifying their lethal deeds was to revise it to “terrorists” and terrorist equates legal targets.

Bang. Now you are dead. Next target please.

So tell me, what kind of weapons were utilized by these professional killers to end the lives of another person? Was it a reliable Sako single bolt action sniper rifle firing a .223 bullet with a Mark 4 CQ/T 1-3 X 14mm Leupold close-quarter scopes mounted on top or was it the Heckler & Koch PSG-1 (Prazisions Schutzen Gewehr) semi-automatic sniper rifle firing a standard 7.62mm NATO round? Was IR used to illuminate the targeting spot on the intended target’s head before the trigger was pulled? Were suppressors utilized to mask the sound of the rifle so as to conceal the positions of these professional killers?

Who determines the targets? Is wearing red and/or black sufficient justification to end up with a bullet in the head? According to most of the foreign journalists on site, nearly all the dead with two bullet holes in their heads were ordinary protesters and not the black-attired gunmen. Two holes are created by the utilization of full metal jacketed high velocity projectiles – one small entry wound, one large fatal exit wound.

One second you are a fully functional breathing human being capable of almost anything, the following second you are no longer of this world and only capable of filling up some hole in the ground.

Some might say that terrorists deserve death for revolting against a government. Is a demonstrator automatically being branded as a terrorist just because someone in the central government said so? Guruji? Aung San Suu Kyi? Nelson Mandela?

One question – who gave this current administration the mandate to rule the country to ? If one were to check the results of the last elections, one would find that the current administration is not the winning party. How then can one be termed as a terrorist when the same individual is protesting against someone who was never voted into office?

‘Powerless’ panel in boy’s death

Lim Kit Siang today described the government’s special panel on Aminulrasyid Amzah’s shooting death as “powerless” and asked the Cabinet to put an end to what he called the Home Ministry’s “guerilla” response to rising public anger.

The DAP leader also criticised the ministry for flip-flopping on the “powers” of the panel.

“The powerless Special Panel into Aminulrasyid’s police killing is neither fish nor fowl even with Tun Haniff as member, as well as other members including former Suhakam commissioner Denison Jayasooria, crime analyst Kamal Affendi Hashim, lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (Asli) chief executive officer Dr Michael Yeoh and UiTM deputy vice-chancellor Prof Abdul Halim Sidek.

“The guerilla response of the Home Ministry could be seen from the on-the-run chop-and-change as to what the Special Panel can and cannot do,” he said.

Lim had proposed a royal commission of inquiry to probe the shooting of the 14-year-old schoolboy and for such a panel to be chaired by former Inspector-General of Police Tun Haniff Omar.

However, the ministry announced today that Haniff would be appointed as a member of the special panel headed by Deputy Home Minister Datuk Abu Seman Yusup.

Lim said the Cabinet should be decisive in quelling public confusion on the panel.

“There is profound confusion as to the actual powers and terms of reference of the Special Panel which is neither fish nor fowl even with Tun Haniff as a member

“The Cabinet tomorrow should boldly and decisively put an end to such ‘guerilla’ responses to the police killing of Aminulrasyid, as the repercussions have reached far and wide as to affect public confidence in the independence, efficiency and professionalism of the police force,” he said.

He added that the Cabinet should take a “holistic decision” to establish a royal commission of inquiry into all police shooting deaths since 2005.

Lim also ridiculed Abu Seman over his indecisiveness surrounding the formation of the special panel.

“Abu Seman now claims that the Special Panel is powerful because it is empowered to scrutinise the investigation papers at any time without needing the approval of the police or Attorney-General’s Chambers.

“Where did Abu Seman get such powers? How did a powerless Special Panel become a ‘powerful’ panel overnight? On what basis are the powers of this Special Panel derived from, when the Cabinet had not met on the matter?” he asked.

Aminulrasyid allegedly tried to ram into police officers in Section 11, Shah Alam, which caused them to shoot him in apparent “self-defence”, in the incident which happened at 2am on Monday.

However, the allegation was refuted by Azamuddin Omar, 15, who was the lone passenger in the car.

The young boy died about 100 metres away from his house.

Bullshit..!!!

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 — Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has instructed the police force to act fairly when it provides security for what is expected to be a highly-charged Hulu Selangor by-election.

Pakatan Rakyat (PR) politicians have previously accused the police of being biased when dealing with them, while showing leniency towards Barisan Nasional.

“[The] police will be professional when performing their duties. I have told the police to fair to everybody.

“We want everyone to move freely and campaign in a healthy manner. But we know the ways of PKR and we can guess the issues that they will try to bring up and relate to the police, but I told the police to be patient, strong and professional in their actions

Hishammuddin added that the police should not be goaded by such statements and needed to exercise discipline when faced with provocation.

“The police have been slapped and bitten, but even in that situation, they have performed their duty with integrity. It is something that we have to go through,” he added.

Commenting on the security build-up for the eleventh by-election since 2008, Hishammuddin said that the police were prepared and ready.

He confirmed that over 1,000 police personnel will be deployed during nomination day on April 17.

He also hoped that the political parties will co-operate with the police and ensure a smooth polling process.

“Now is up to the party machinery to be responsible and enable the democratic process by allowing the voters to vote,” he told reporters during a press conference in parliament.

He also warned PKR not to cause any ruckus during the election.

“When we face ... PAS or DAP candidates, the incident of clashes, I can say that it does not exist. But when it comes to PKR, I can say that there must be unwanted incidents from the nomination date. I hope everybody and party members are disciplined,” he said.

Conversely, Hishammuddin was confident that BN will be ethical in its campaigns.

“We are more careful and disciplined in Umno and Barisan Nasional. We must be proactive in our strategies by not playing [up] sensitive issues such race, religion and not resort to personal attacks. On our side, we are confident,” he said.

The Hulu Selangor by-election was called following the death of PKR MP Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin Ahmad late last month.

In Election 2008, Zainal, a former Selangor deputy mentri besar, defeated MIC deputy president Datuk G. Palanivel by a slim majority of 198 votes.

There are 64,500 voters in Hulu Selangor, with the Malays making up 52.7 per cent of the total while the Chinese constitute 26.3 per cent, Indians approximately 19 per cent and other races at 1.7 per cent.

Last night, PKR and PR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced Zaid Ibrahim as the PKR candidate.

Malaysia’s Watergate

One thing the Minister said that was not recorded in the Minutes of the Meeting is that this Israeli link fiasco would become Malaysia’s Watergate if not properly handled. Therefore they must make sure that this matter is kept highly confidential and no one is supposed to know about it. I would call it Israelgate rather than Malaysia’s Watergate.

IGP: No infiltration by any Israelis

No Israeli was ever involved in the upgrading of the police force’s information and communication system as alleged by Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said this was because Master Plan Consulting (MPC) Sdn Bhd, the company awarded the job to carry out the upgrading work, terminated Asiasoft Sdn Bhd’s contract.

The termination was carried out when it was revealed that Asiasoft’s Singapore partner had two former Israeli intelligence officers on their payroll.

“The Home Ministry had awarded the upgrading work to MPC in 2005. MPC then engaged a local bumiputra company called Asiasoft Sdn Bhd to carry out the work for them.

“In 2007, Asiasoft sold 30% of the shares to Asiasoft Pte Ltd Singapore. When we conducted a due diligence check on their Singaporean partner, we discovered the presence of the Israelis in the company,” he said.

MPC immediately terminated Asiasoft’s contract.

Musa said police then conducted a thorough investigation into the matter and found there was no infiltration by any Israelis.

He said they were investigating who leaked out classified police investigations (Editor's Note: this is the key issue for the PDRM) and what motivated Anwar to make such “serious and damaging” allegations in Parliament. -- The Star

*************************************************

In the first episode in this series of articles (Round 1 of 10: Hishammuddin's bullshit revealed) the Minutes of the Meeting between the Minister and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) was revealed.

Basically, the focus of the meeting was to discuss how the leak about the Israeli connection managed to surface and for how long this leak has been going on. The meeting was more about damage control than about the security of the nation. They wanted to see what they could do to protect the image of the government and the PDRM.

One thing that must be noted here is the following:

On 27 June 2008, Malaysia Today revealed that Israeli intelligence had penetrated Bukit Aman. Malaysia Today said, Izhak David Nakar served in the Israel Air Force and developed the intelligence system for the Israeli Defense Force. Ido Schechter is a captain in the Israeli Air Force. They are both behind PDRM’s computerisation program. (Read more here: http://www.malaysia-today.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=31036:bukit-amans-israeli-connection&catid=22:the-corridors-of-power&Itemid=100085 )

On 11 September 2008, I was detained under the Internal Security Act for the ‘crime’ of slandering the Deputy Prime Minister’s wife and for insulting Islam.

On 7 November 2008, the Shah Alam High Court ruled that my detention was illegal and subsequently ordered my release.

On 23 November 2008, a meeting was held between the Minister and the Police to discuss how Malaysia Today managed to get the information about the PDRM-Israeli connection and how they could do damage control to protect the image of the government and the Royal Malaysian Police. (Read more here: http://www.malaysia-today.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=31092:round-1-hishammuddins-bullshit-revealed&catid=22:the-corridors-of-power&Itemid=100085 )

A new ISA Detention Order was then prepared but my detention was held back because the government had already filed an appeal against the Shah Alam High Court’s decision in ordering my release (the hearing which was still ongoing).

In February 2009, halfway through the appeal hearing, the government suddenly retreated after they decided it was taking too long and after three months I was still walking free. The government felt that it would be better to abandon the appeal (which they did) and instead detain me under a fresh Detention Order.

Two days before they came for me I received word from my Deep Throats in Bukit Aman that they are coming for me and that I should go underground if I do not wish to spend the rest of my life under detention without trial.

On the insistence of my Deep Throats in Bukit Aman I went underground and the police went to my home and found an empty house. This was confirmed by the security guards who said that the police came to my house and camped outside my house for several days before giving up and going home.

The problem they faced, though, is that Malaysia Today has Deep Throats in Bukit Aman who are feeding us ‘sensitive information’. Therefore, they must neutralise Malaysia Today by sending me back to Kamunting and then korek, korek, korek from me who my Deep Throats in Bukit Aman are.

My Deep Throats in Bukit Aman were understandably very worried. They knew that if the Special Branch got me then it would be a matter of time before names begin to surface. And that would mean my Deep Throats in Bukit Aman would be at risk.

Around midnight, 36 hours before I went underground, some ‘visitors’ came to my house. There was a heated argument when I said I was adamant to stay and would go to Kamunting if it comes to that. The ‘visitors’ felt that I was being rash and that it is not about me going to Kamunting but about what will happen to the Deep Throats in Bukit Aman once the Special Branch works on me. Even hardcore Communist Terrorists eventually break, even if it takes many years, they told me. You are not as tough to withstand what they can do to you and will definitely break and put everyone at risk, they argued.

From the point of view of my Deep Throats in Bukit Aman, the issue is not about my articles on Altantuya or about my Statutory Declaration. It is not even about me allegedly insulting Islam. Those are all just smokescreens. It is about the damage I am doing to the IGP with the many revelations that Malaysia Today has made over the last few years.

Who are all these people behind the companies involved in the computerisation work for the Royal Malaysian Police? Who are the people behind Web Power? Yes, a good question indeed. And we shall provide the answers in the next episodes in these series of articles. So stay tuned.

In the meantime, read this letter from the IGP to the Prime Minister dated 3 November 2006. Clearly, the IGP was the main thrust behind this project.

Remember, in November 2006 the government already knew about the Israeli link. Only when this information became public knowledge in June 2008 did they attempt to do damage control by terminating the sub-contractor and then use front companies to cover their tracks. Read more

'Teoh was killed': Expert

Dr Pornthip, head of the Thai Central Institute of Forensic Science, outside the courtroom in Shah Alam yesterday. -- PHOTO: ASSOCIATED PRESS

KUALA LUMPUR - THE inquest into the mysterious death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock took a dramatic turn on Wednesday, after a well-known Thai pathologist said that it was most likely a killing.

Pathologist Pornthip Rojanasunand said the likelihood of a killing was 80 per cent.

Her testimony at the coroner's court is at odds with that of the two government-appointed pathologists involved in the inquest. They felt that Mr Teoh, 30, committed suicide.

Dr Pornthip was hired as an expert witness by the Selangor state government - which is ruled by the Pakatan Rakyat alliance - and her views yesterday suggested that he had suffered injuries before he fell to his death. He was then under detention by a federal anti-corruption commission.

She pointed out that Mr Teoh's skull fracture was not typical of an injury suffered from a fall. Instead, it appeared as if the skull was hit by a blunt force.

She added that, before his fall, Mr Teoh also suffered anal penetration and that he could have been strangled as there were bruises around his neck.

Migrants die in detention

KUALA LUMPUR (Malaysia) - AN OFFICIAL says six Myanmar migrants have died while in detention in Malaysia because of a suspected waterborne disease caused by rat urine.

The immigration department official says the six men - detained for being in Malaysia illegally - fell ill last month. They died in hospital days later. All six had complained of severe internal aches.

The official said on Friday the detainees were believed to have contracted leptospirosis, a disease from water contaminated by rat urine.

He said the detainees likely contracted the disease in another centre. They were transferred together with some 700 others after a riot there.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity, citing protocol. -- AP
